GAHRA High School & Adult Scholarship
The GAHRA Scholarship Committee is honored to announce the GAHRA 2024 Scholarship Program will be awarding up to $24,500.00 in scholarship funds to graduating high school seniors and adult students of GAHRA member agencies.

For high school students, GAHRA will fund academic scholarships for programs leading to an undergraduate degree as well as vocational/technical scholarships. In addition, SERC/NAHRO will fund an academic scholarship. For adult students, GAHRA will fund academic scholarships and vocational/technical scholarships.

Applications and supporting documents must be typewritten in English and submitted to the Scholarship Chair in PDF format via email. All applicants' official transcripts must be mailed to:

NAHRO Merit College Scholarship / NAHRO-LDG Scholars Program
The NAHRO Merit College Scholarship Program awards a one-time payment of $1,000 each to eight scholars, one from each NAHRO region, who are pursuing their first post-secondary degree. Three NAHRO Merit College Scholarship Program winners will be selected by the NAHRO Scholarship Committee to become a part of the NAHRO-LDG Scholars Program.

The NAHRO-LDG Scholars Program is a 10-year venture that will provide $1 million in scholarships and internship opportunities to low-income students from around the country and is funded by the award-winning multi-family housing developer, LDG Development.

In addition to the one-time scholarship provided through the NAHRO Merit College Scholarship, NAHRO-LDG Scholars will receive:

  • A $12,000 scholarship distributed over four years to assist with tuition and university-affiliated housing expenses.
  • An opportunity to earn up to $9,000 in stipends for summer internships and other approved activities that support the student's academic matriculation.
  • Networking opportunities with business and community leaders.

PHADA Scholarship Programs
To encourage academic excellence and community responsibility among high school students, PHADA has implemented a scholarship program for graduating seniors who are preparing to enter college. PHADA will award three scholarships to deserving youth currently residing in a PHADA member agency. Three scholarships will be awarded.

Stephen J. Bollinger Memorial Scholarship ($7,000) - will be awarded at the PHADA Annual Convention and Exhibition. The winner will also receive a trip for him/herself and one parent/guardian to attend the convention. 

Freedom and Civil Rights Scholarship ($5,000) - Students must submit a personal essay (350-500 words) demonstrating their efforts and achievements in furthering the values of the civil rights movement. Explain why the cause is still relevant in communities today and how they relate to your educational goals. Include any relevant volunteer experiences and community involvement activities relating to advancing the cause of civil rights.

Nan McKay Pathway to Achievement Scholarship ($5,000) - Nan McKay has offered significant financial support to PHADA's scholarship program and has elected to reward one deserving youth with a $5,000 scholarship. PHADA appreciates their commitment to serving the needs of public housing residents and the community.

HAI Group Resident Scholarship Program
20 people will be awarded scholarships valued at $6,000 each. Students may be awarded a scholarship for up to four consecutive years.
